An e-commerce company has hired you to analyze their sales data from the past year. The company wants to understand the trends in sales, identify the products that are selling well and poorly, and see if there are any correlations between customer demographics and purchase behavior.
Goals
The goals of the project are to:
• Analyze sales trends over time
• Identify the best-selling and worst-selling products
• Identify any correlations between customer demographics and purchase behavior
• Make recommendations to the company on how to improve sales
Data
The company has provided you with a dataset containing the following fields:
• Order ID: a unique identifier for each order
• Product: the name of the product purchased
• Price: the price of the product
• Quantity: the quantity of the product purchased
• Date: the date of the order
• Customer ID: a unique identifier for each customer
• Age: the age of the customer
• Gender: the gender of the customer
The dataset is in a CSV format and contains data for the past year.
Methodology
To achieve the project goals, you will perform the following steps:
• Data Cleaning: You will clean the data, remove any duplicates or missing values, and create new columns if necessary.
• Exploratory Data Analysis: You will perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to gain insights into the data, such as sales trends over time, popular products, and customer demographics.
• Visualization: You will create visualizations to illustrate the results of the EDA.
• Correlation Analysis: You will perform correlation analysis to identify any correlations between customer demographics and purchase behavior.
• Recommendation: You will make recommendations to the company based on the results of the analysis.
Deliverables
The deliverables for the project are:
