Latin America Political History Map

I built a visual and interactive map of every political leader in the history of Latin America since colonial independence. Users can select a date using the sliding timeline, or input a date manually to update the leaders at any given time. Selecting a country will highlight that country on the map, and display its current data.

It uses React and D3.js on the frontend, and PostgreSQL on the backend. I styled the components myself using Tailwind CSS, and everything is optimized for use on mobile or desktop screen sizes.

The frontend is hosted on Vercel, with integrated analytics from Plausible Analytics, and the database is hosted of Railway.
