Brief

A class project which sought to improve the design of an existing website for users who may be potential tenants
Client: Metro NZ Property (Case study)
Role: UI Designer
Team (4): UI Designer, UX Designer, Developer (2)

Product Overview:

The current website is difficult to navigate and their is too much information provided at once. The website appears to cater more for property owners rather than potential tenants. Users are also unsure how they can book a in person viewing.
The redesigned website simplified the user journey by providing a clear call to action to view rental listings. Breadcrumbs were added to assist with navigation and key details of each listing were provided in a list layout. The user is also able to book a viewing directly from the listing page.

Design Process:

UI Analysis: I first analysed the existing design to see how the redesign could be more intuitive and visually appealing. I created a user flow for booking a viewing to see the steps a user would take and identify why the website is difficult to navigate.
Wire framing and Prototyping: Design sketches and lo-fi wireframes for visual layout of website, build interactive hi-fi prototype with clickable elements to demonstrate new user flow.
Testing: Review designs to see if they have met objectives. Update design and retest based on feedback to see if changes improve the user experience.
