Maven — Brand Identity Design

Maven is a handmade soap brand rooted in natural ingredients and crafted in North India. The goal was to create a brand that feels clean, modern, and premium, moving away from the typical “rustic natural” aesthetic.

THE PROBLEM

The natural skincare space is crowded with brands that rely heavily on traditional, ayurvedic or overly rustic visuals. While authentic, these brands often fail to appeal to a modern, design-conscious audience. Maven needed to stand out by feeling:
Contemporary, not outdated
Premium, not homemade
Minimal, yet expressive

THE GOAL

To design a brand identity that bridges natural authenticity with modern premium aesthetics, creating a distinctive presence in the D2C skincare space.
Positioning
Modern Natural Luxury A brand that feels as refined as premium skincare, yet rooted in handmade purity.
A minimal visual language with strong negative space was used to elevate the perception of the product. Natural textures like stone were introduced to ground the brand in authenticity.
Each product variant is defined by an ingredient-led color system, allowing intuitive recognition while reinforcing the natural origin of the soaps.
Oatmilk → soft neutral
Sandalwood → warm earthy
Avocado → fresh green
A refined art direction was developed using controlled lighting and natural materials to highlight texture, purity, and craftsmanship.
Stone textures → raw authenticity
Soft shadows → premium feel
Close-ups → tactile quality
