Professional Services Industry: Scaling Regulatory Compliance Leads to $1M Revenue
In October 2023, a regulatory compliance consulting firm reached out to me after struggling for years to break the $1M/year revenue ceiling. They were experts in ISO, CMMI, and CMMC—but their lead gen wasn’t fueling the kind of growth they needed. Since I stepped in, they’ve finally crossed that milestone, and we’re still working together today to scale even further.

The challenge:
They were spending over $41K on Google Ads with a cost per lead stuck at $112. In an industry where deals are high-ticket and cycles are long, that just wasn’t sustainable.
What I did:
Rebuilt their keyword strategy to focus on high-intent queries and eliminate wasted spend
Created new ad copy and visuals tailored to their buyer personas
Added negative keywords and fine-tuned targeting to improve relevance
Switched to Target CPA bidding to control costs while scaling reach
The results, from Nov 2023 to April 2024:
Cost per lead dropped from $112 to $40.25 (–64%)
Leads grew from 371 to 928 (+557 leads)
Traffic went up 27%, and ad spend actually dropped by $4,000
