Developing a scalable website for an NGO using Drupal CMS
Overview
Client: Janna Lynne Africa (JLA) Project: Full-Website Creation Service: Drupal Web Design & Development
JLA was started with the mission to help underprivileged communities by empowering children to access education and focusing on public-benefit programmes towards communities.
During the discovery sessions with the founders, it was clear the future of JLA needed a platform that would grow and scale with their ambitions and goals.
What does an NGO need to be? Trustworthy, professional, secure, scalable, community-driven.
Knowing the choices at hand of several CMS software and their needs of the ambitious JLA organisation.
I made the conscious decision to select a future-ready, secure and resilient platform to build with, Drupal 10.
Process
The Strategy
As an opportunity to record, refer and centralize information through an open, collaborative space to voice their opinions and vision.
An interactive website strategy document was prepared and shared with the founders of JLA.
Every goal, objective and need of the organisation was drafted in the strategy. Guidance was provided throughout the strategy and a project roadmap was created to guide the project development.
The Project
Scheduled for 2 project phases: JLynne WXP (1,2)
AGILE methodology for project management with 2 weeks sprints, covering non-blocking milestones: Research & Strategy, UI & UX Design, Content, Development and Deployment.
The project was delivered iteratively in milestones on a page basis.
