Fintech Mobile App UI/UX — Digital Wallet & Payments

Smarter payments. Clearer money management.

A modern fintech mobile app designed to simplify everyday banking, digital payments, and personal money management.
The product brings digital wallet management, P2P money transfers, split payments, transaction tracking, spending insights, nearby payments, and debit card controls into one connected mobile experience.

The Challenge

Digital banking products often combine dozens of financial actions inside a limited mobile interface.
The challenge was to create a product where users could quickly understand their financial position, send and receive money, review transactions, split expenses, manage cards, and access spending information—without making the experience feel overloaded.
The design needed to balance three things:
Speed for everyday financial actions. Clarity for transaction and account information. Control when users are moving or managing money.

The Approach

I approached the product as a connected financial ecosystem rather than a collection of individual screens.
The UX was structured around a central wallet experience, with high-frequency actions such as sending money, reviewing transactions, and checking balances given the strongest visual priority.
Secondary workflows—including split payments, transaction analytics, nearby payments, and debit card customization—were designed as focused flows that users could enter without losing context.
The design process covered:
UX Research → Information Architecture → User Flows → Wireframes → High-Fidelity UI → Interactive Prototype → Design System → Developer Handoff

Everything that matters, at a glance.

The home experience acts as the user's financial command center.
Users can immediately see their available balance, account information, recent transactions, connected accounts, and frequent contacts, while the Send Money action remains easily accessible.
The information hierarchy was designed to surface financial status first and actions second, reducing the amount of navigation required for common tasks.

Key Features

Digital wallet & account balance
P2P money transfers
Recent transaction history
Quick-send contacts
Connected cards and accounts
Spending statistics
Mobile-first navigation

Turning transaction history into useful financial context.

Instead of treating transactions as a simple list, the experience helps users understand where their money is going.
Purchases, transfers, subscriptions, and incoming payments are visually distinguishable, while individual transaction views provide additional context such as merchant information, account balance, historical spending, and relevant follow-up actions.
Users can move directly from a transaction into actions such as repeat payment, split payment, or invoice creation.
This reduces unnecessary navigation and keeps related financial tasks connected.

Banking functionality with personal control.

The debit card setup flow introduces personalization without adding unnecessary complexity to onboarding.
Users can:
Select a debit card design
Choose a preferred card color
Preview changes instantly
Move through setup step-by-step
The result is a lightweight card configuration experience that combines functional banking requirements with personal expression.

Making shared expenses easier to manage.

Splitting a payment between multiple people can quickly become complicated, especially when users need to calculate individual amounts and request money separately.
The split-payment flow reduces that friction.
Users select participants, enter the total amount, divide the payment equally, review each person's share, and send the requests from one focused workflow.
Clear amount hierarchy and participant-level information help users understand exactly who owes what before a request is sent.

Faster P2P payments without searching.

The nearby payment experience explores a quicker way to initiate person-to-person transactions.
Users can discover nearby contacts, confirm the intended recipient, and initiate a payment or request without manually searching through a large contact list.
Clear recipient identification remains visible before the transaction begins, helping balance speed with confidence during money transfers.

Design System

Built for consistency beyond a single flow.

A reusable UI system was established to keep the product visually and functionally consistent as new financial features are introduced.
The component system covered recurring patterns such as:
Buttons · Transaction Rows · Financial Cards · Inputs · Navigation · Contact Avatars · Payment States · Data Visualization · Account Elements
Reusable Figma components, variants, Auto Layout, and consistent interaction patterns helped create a foundation that could scale across the broader fintech product.

The Outcome

The final experience brings multiple financial workflows into one cohesive mobile product while maintaining clear hierarchy and consistent interaction patterns.
The design connects:
Digital Wallet → Money Transfers → Transactions → Analytics → Split Payments → Nearby Payments → Debit Card Management
Rather than designing each feature independently, the goal was to create a unified fintech experience where users always understand their financial status, available actions, and next step.
