Swerve is a portfolio site that never scrolls. Instead of a long page of thumbnails, projects move in an infinite loop you steer. Every card tilts with your momentum, and hovering a project opens it as a fullscreen film. I designed and built it in Framer as a self-initiated study in how far agency-grade motion can go without custom code.
The problem
Most creative portfolios look the same: a grid, a scroll, a click-through. For studios and directors whose work is motion, that format flattens the very thing they're selling. The other problem is ownership: highly animated sites usually need a developer every time a project changes.
Approach
Motion as the interface. The project loop replaces scrolling entirely. Momentum-based tilt gives the loop physical weight, and hover-triggered fullscreen films let the work speak before anyone clicks.
Built for the client to own. Every project (title, film, imagery) lives in Framer's CMS. Adding or reordering work means editing a CMS entry, not touching the design. There is no custom code in the design layer.
Restraint around the motion. Typography and layout stay quiet so the films carry the page.
