Carlsberg Community Hub — Case Study

1. The Client & Problem

Carlsberg Community Hub was built as a private community platform for managing internal services, marketplace activity, parking access, and user engagement in one place.
The client needed a centralized digital system where different user roles could interact smoothly instead of relying on manual coordination, scattered communication, and disconnected tools.
The main problem was that community operations were spread across multiple workflows, including parking approvals, vendor activity, service bookings, marketplace listings, and user management.

2. The Challenge

The challenge was to build a platform that could support multiple user types without making the experience confusing.
The system needed to handle:
Admins managing the overall platform
Vendors listing products or services
Buyers browsing and purchasing
Service providers managing availability and bookings
Parking license requests and approvals
QR-based parking access
Payments, bookings, messaging, and reviews
It was not just a marketplace. It was a full community operations hub with different workflows connected inside one platform.

3. My Approach

My approach was to structure the platform around clear user roles and controlled workflows.
Instead of building everything as one flat marketplace, we separated the system into role-based journeys so every user only saw what was relevant to them.
The product was planned around:
Simple onboarding for different user types
Admin control over users, vendors, and approvals
Marketplace flow for buying and selling
Booking flow for services
QR-based parking license management
Secure payment handling
Communication between users
Scalable structure for future community features
The focus was to keep the platform operationally strong while still making it easy for normal users to navigate.
