Oye - Simplifying Complicated Matters

I was approached by a Dubai based UK Youtuber - Oye, to create a consistent brand for his growing YouTube channel, which could be carried across all platforms. It was a great wide-spread project that involved not only look and feel but also monitoring his analytics and ideating a great digital strategy including actionable steps to help him grow. The idea was to take visual inspiration from his Yoruba heritage and simplify them to come up with a beautiful modern look and feel.

The most pivotal step in the visual design is always the brand document. I designed the logo, and working with the client also created a visual treatment that would carry across all elements. Below are some images from this. It's always the highlight of a designer's day to hear words like "It looks like you reached into my brain and truly represented me!".
