Assay — Web design and Framer build

Client: The AI audit associate Role: Web design, interaction design, Framer development| Scope: Landing page, product visuals, motion, responsive

Overview

The client builds an AI teammate for enterprise teams. It takes over the repetitive middle of a job, like collecting documents, following up with people, and checking records, while a person approves every decision.
They needed a website that explained this clearly to senior buyers in one scroll. It had to feel precise and trustworthy, and it could not look like every other AI platform.

The challenge

Skeptical buyers. The audience is senior enterprise decision-makers who have seen a lot of AI websites promise everything. Big claims and glowing gradients would work against the product.
Invisible work. The product's value is in emails sent, documents checked, and problems caught. None of that is naturally visual.
The trust question. Every buyer asks the same thing: what does the AI do on its own, and what do my people still decide? The page had to answer that without a wall of text.

Approach

One question per section. I structured the page as a sequence of buyer questions: What's the problem? How does it work? What does it actually do? Can I trust it? Each section answers one question and hands off to the next.
Show the work, not the AI. Instead of abstract illustrations, the product section shows real-looking task tables: what came in, who owns it, and where it stands. The last row always reads "Waiting on you," which shows human approval as part of the workflow instead of explaining it in a paragraph.
Motion with a job. Every animation explains something. Nothing moves just to look busy.

Key design decisions

Hero. A custom animated grid fills the background. Waves of tick marks move across it, occasional stamps press in, and a soft trail follows the cursor. It suggests work happening quietly in the background, which is the product's whole promise, without showing a single robot or glowing orb.
Problem section. Short pain points float around the headline and blur in and out. They read like thoughts the buyer already has, not a feature list.
How it works. Three auto-advancing tabs, each with a progress bar and a small node diagram. Files flow into the product, the product learns the company's setup, and work flows out. The diagrams use travelling dots on dashed lines, so the process reads in about three seconds.
Product walkthrough. A sticky scroll section where the copy stays in place while three product screens change beside it. All three screens come from one consistent dataset, so names, dates, and numbers agree across the page. That consistency is what makes it feel like a real product and not a mockup.
Visual system. Near-black and off-white with one green, used for actions and "passed" states only. Geist for headings and body text, Geist Mono for IDs, dates, and data. The restraint is the point: in a crowded AI market, calm reads as confident.

Build

Built entirely in Framer, responsive across desktop, tablet, and mobile.
The hero grid is a custom React code component drawn on canvas instead of thousands of page elements, so it stays smooth on large screens. It pauses when scrolled out of view, shows a still frame for visitors with reduced motion turned on, and reads colors directly from the site's color styles, so a palette change updates it automatically.
Tabs, diagrams, and product screens are built as reusable components, so the team can update content without breaking the layout.
The client's name, brand, copy, and product data have been changed to protect confidentiality. The page structure, interactions, and build are the delivered work.
