My contribution

Knightsbridge Foreign Exchange is a Toronto-based Canadian company offering currency exchange services across Canada. I was responsible for improving the user experience on both the mobile app and website. I created intuitive user flows and screens to simplify currency exchange for individuals and businesses. Additionally, I designed all social media visuals and ads, ensuring consistent branding and cohesive visual identity across platforms.

Website

For the website, I tried to create a streamlined, user-friendly experience focused on intuitive navigation and accessible currency exchange. By developing clear user flows and responsive layouts, I enhanced usability on desktop and mobile platforms, ultimately improving conversion rates and user satisfaction.

App

For the financial app, my focus was on creating clear user flows for easy navigation, from checking live exchange rates to completing transactions. I streamlined complex actions into intuitive steps, enhancing functionality and accessibility. This prioritization of ease of use improved customer satisfaction and engagement across a wide range of users.

Social media

For social media & ads, I created visually appealing messaging tailored for each platform, capturing attention and effectively communicating brand value. By producing impactful content, KnightsbridgeFX boosted awareness, attracted followers, and fostered meaningful interactions with their target audience.

Learnings

The Importance of Stepping Back.

One of the most valuable lessons I learned during this project was the need to step back and zoom out. By looking beyond the day-to-day tasks and established boundaries within the organization, I was able to unlock fresh perspectives and innovative solutions. This broader approach helped me think outside the box, which ultimately led to more impactful results and a deeper understanding of how to drive success on a larger scale.

Creativity Thrives with Freedom.

I also realized how crucial it is to give space for creativity. When designers are given the freedom to explore new ideas, it fosters innovation and allows creative concepts to flourish. This freedom helped evolve the visual language we needed across multiple consumer touchpoints. It reinforced my belief that creative autonomy leads to stronger, more cohesive designs that elevate the brand experience.

Quality over quantity.

Another key learning was the importance of addressing quality issues and existing design debt. By navigating these challenges, I was able to improve the overall consistency of our design system. This project opened up opportunities to revamp the system, ensuring that the designs were not only high-quality but also scalable and adaptable for future needs. It was a reminder of how critical it is to maintain a strong focus on quality in every aspect of design.
