Orisha in Session — the Mexico-based promoter behind the Congo Natty Latin America tour — came back with a new challenge: a visual campaign for the Mexico City debut of Takuya Nakamura, the Japanese jazz and dub trumpeter, alongside Victor Rice, the legendary USA/Brazil-based producer, bassist and analogue tape machine specialist.
The brief was specific: illustrated portraits of both artists, electric colors, and an aesthetic that felt vintage but hit like something current. The result is a campaign built around halftone portraiture, worn paper texture and a red-green split that references both the Mexican flag and the visual language of reggae and dub culture.
