OVERVIEW
The Worldbeat Cultural Center in San Diego has been running the Tribute to the Reggae Legends for 45 years — one of the longest-running reggae events in the United States. For this edition, the brief came through Orisha in Session: create a visual identity that matched the scale and history of the event, with almost no time to spare.
The result is a full illustrated ensemble piece — Bob Marley at the centre, surrounded by portraits of reggae legends — built to honour the culture and carry the weight of a 45-year-old institution.
THE PROCESS
The client provided the names — I provided the rest. More than fifteen illustrated portraits, each one built from photo reference, composed together into a single scene. The challenge wasn't just the illustration — it was doing it fast enough to matter, without losing the quality the event deserved.
DELIVERABLES
Main illustrated poster · Flyer · Multiple print sizes · Social media adaptations
