The Challenge
Pakistan's home services industry operates largely on word-of-mouth and phone calls leaving homeowners struggling to find reliable electricians, plumbers, or beauticians at short notice, while skilled professionals lose income during gaps between jobs. There's no transparency on pricing, no way to verify quality beforehand, and both sides waste time on back-and-forth scheduling. The market needed a trusted platform connecting verified service professionals with customers who need immediate, reliable help.
The Solution
I built Karsaaz Pro, a comprehensive on-demand services marketplace serving Pakistan's major cities. The platform connects homeowners with vetted professionals across 50+ service categories from electrical work and plumbing to beauty services and home repairs through instant booking, transparent pricing, and a seamless mobile experience available in both English and Urdu.

The technical challenges were interesting, but the real learning was understanding cultural nuances: why WhatsApp integration was critical (familiar communication), why Urdu wasn't optional (accessibility for older users), why cash-on-delivery remained essential (digital payment hesitancy). Building globally-inspired solutions with local adaptation is how you win emerging markets.
