Tourist Mobile Apps

For as long as we know, our country has consistently had people studying abroad. According to UNESCO, in 2022, there were 53,604 college students pursuing master's degrees in other countries, and this number is expected to increase. This phenomenon brings about a problem: students who have never studied abroad or visited another country before are confused about preparing everything. This issue also occurs in the context of tourism.

In response to the issues that arise, **Starguide** has a vision to address this problem. Starguide is a travel agency that focuses on international travel. Their goal is to help tourists, students, and others who need to travel outside of Indonesia feel at ease during their trips. Their main services include providing trip packages, transportation, and assistance with document bureaucracy.

I was the only designer in this project, ther are other team member with role such as developers and project manager. As a solo fighter, my work scope including research, creating flow, wireframing, and prototyping.

For this project, i need to carefully navigate through several essential steps. Design thinking stands out as a key platform that is well-suited to address the intricacies of this case. The forthcoming phases, play a crucial role in uncovering hidden insights and addressing potential challenges. This strategic approach is intended not only to steer the project forward but also to contribute to a thorough understanding of the challenges at hand, promoting innovation and effective problem-solving.

From the start, Client already had a user category in mind. Even so, validation needed to be done to confirm those user were the right user. I conducted further research to validate and gather additional information about what users might need and prefer trough user interview.

I gather 10 participant, and conducted user interview with the result being :

- A majority of the participants expressed a preference for customizing their trip plans.

- Participants confirmed that preparing necessary documents (visa, passport, etc.) can be a complicated process.

- Many college students among the participants found it challenging to adapt during their initial arrival.

- The majority of participants tend to use other applications for booking plane or hotel tickets, with rare use of trip packages or a lack of awareness about such options.

- Some users expressed reservations about entrusting their documents to others due to concerns

In order to get a solid understanding of how competitors are doing in the market and to lay out a solid foundation, i did a competitor analysis which consisted of direct and indirect competitors (traveloka, tiket.com, agoda, pegipegi, and trip.)

the wireframe process was going trough a lot of changes. as the function of wireframe is to make the idea including ui/ux clear and clean.

There are problem i need to get over with at this step, one of example was the flow and experience. The client dont have an image how the flow should be going, luckily my team mate was so helpfull and open for discussion to this problem. To get over the problem, i gather flow from other competitor and bring it to the table and discuss it. As a UI/UX designer, i point out what was the pro’s and con’s of every flow. And ✨voila ✨ here are the result.
