Exploring Water in Portraiture • A1 Acrylic Painting

This painting marks the start of my journey into the world of painting. I was used to drawing portraits with pencils but had no idea how to handle paints or understand colour theory. I wanted a challenge beyond my comfort zone.
I was intrigued by the way water moves, and I decided to try painting water dripping down a portrait. Even though it’s not my best work, it’s a favourite because I enjoyed the process. There’s something abstract about water that I find interesting, especially when contrasted with the precision needed for portraiture. This piece represents a significant step as I moved from drawing to painting and tackled the complexities of a new medium.
