As designers, we often showcase our final products through stunning studio photography or CGI, focusing on those hero shots that captivate audiences. For the majority of audiences, this is sufficient. However, decision-makers and those in the know sometimes seek more.
Recently, a potential employer surprised me by requesting schematic images of my design process rather than the finished artwork. This unique ask in my experience - that I welcomed - signaled a deeper interest in assessing my capabilities. In response, I compiled a comprehensive deck featuring a selection of my packaging designs from the past few years.
