Disney | VFX Sizzle Reel

This project involved the creation of a visually compelling VFX reel for Disney, a global leader in entertainment, storytelling, and innovative visual effects. The reel served as both a showcase of Disney’s cutting-edge visual effects and a tool for internal and external promotional purposes, including attracting talent, presenting to stakeholders, and highlighting Disney's technological achievements in VFX.

As the video editor for this project, I was responsible for the following key tasks:

Collaborative Planning: Worked closely with the VFX team, creative directors, and Disney marketing representatives to understand the vision, goals, and narrative structure of the reel.

Footage Management: Reviewed and organized extensive footage from Disney’s VFX-heavy films and productions, ensuring the selection of scenes that best represented the quality and innovation of their work.

Creative Editing: Crafted a dynamic edit that showcased the progression from raw footage to finished VFX shots. This involved precise timing, pacing, and attention to detail to emphasize the transformation and artistry behind the effects.

Music and Audio Integration: Selected and synchronized an inspiring soundtrack and sound design that complemented the visuals, enhancing the emotional impact of the reel.

Brand Alignment: Ensured the final video aligned with Disney's brand guidelines, including maintaining a balance between creative storytelling and technical brilliance.

Discovery Phase: Conducted meetings with stakeholders to establish the target audience, purpose, and tone of the reel. Defined key messaging points, such as the innovation and creativity behind Disney’s VFX processes.

Footage Selection: Collaborated with the production team to identify standout clips from blockbuster films and productions that highlighted Disney's commitment to pushing the boundaries of VFX.

Editing Workflow: Followed a structured post-production workflow, incorporating multiple rounds of feedback from Disney stakeholders. This included:
