Metric unlocks the ESG dataset needed to align sustainability, equity, and profitability in private markets. This service simplifies measurement, allowing companies and investors to concentrate on improvement. Initially developed by a previous team, the application faced multiple challenges that hindered its stability and performance. When our team was invited to take over, the primary concern was the user dashboard, which failed to function correctly across a range of user scenarios. This issue not only impacted the immediate user experience but also raised questions about the underlying architecture of the entire application.

To address these concerns, our first step involved a deep dive into the existing system. It became clear that the database design was flawed, lacking the robustness needed to support the diverse and dynamic data flows essential for modern applications. Our team undertook a thorough redesign of the database architecture, ensuring it could handle increased loads and provide the necessary support for complex user interactions.

With a new database structure in place, we turned our attention to the workflows within the app. The existing workflows were not only inefficient but also posed security risks, as they were too reliant on the frontend, exposing sensitive data to potential breaches. To rectify this, we redesigned the workflows to leverage more backend processes. This not only secured the data transactions but also streamlined operations, reducing latency and improving responsiveness.

Finally, recognizing the importance of user satisfaction, we embarked on enhancing the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX). This phase involved iterative testing and feedback cycles with actual users to understand their pain points and expectations. Our UI/UX team introduced intuitive design elements and interactive features that made navigation easier and the overall app more engaging.

Through these comprehensive efforts, we transformed a struggling application into a robust platform, ready to meet the demands of its users and pave the way for future enhancements.
