Poetry Introduction is the introductory animation to a poetry online course. The video aimed at being a visual representation of poetry, transforming verbal images and figures of speech into fitting visuals and movements.

The development of the project started from a sketched animatic provided by the client, which outlined the video’s visual storytelling and guided the creative process.

The animatic was the starting point for the creation of a consistent visual identity for the video. In the style frames stage, different visual directions where explored to find the one that best captured the project’s goals. The final choice featured a soft color palette with grain and blur effects.

The main challenge in creating the Poetry Introduction animation involved refining each transition. Even drastically different scenes had to flow naturally into one another. Seamless transitions helped maintain a smooth journey through the poetic voice-over.

The animation needed to reflect the softness and relaxed pace of the narration. The motion mirrors the voice’s shifts in intensity and dynamics, enhancing the expressive qualities of poetry.
