MS is commonly diagnosed in people ranging from their 20s to 50s, and has affected around 1 million individuals in the United States, according to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. As with other autoimmune diseases, there’s no direct “cure” for MS. Rather, doctors aim to find ways to alleviate symptoms, along with preventing them.
