A managerial positioned clinician interested in improving postpartum depression (PPD) screening and management in their workplace- an OBGYN clinic approached me to help in planning and implementing a health quality improvement project aimed at increasing PPD screening at the clinic.

My role was to plan and carry out the data collection and analysis and present the findings.

I used patient charts to identify the PPD screening rates three months before and after the intervention had been implemented.

My hypothesis was that implementing the intervention would increase PPD screening rates and referrals for appropriate care.

My findings indicated a statistically significant improvement in PPD screening.
