📝 Introduction

Project Overview:

Odhiya.ma is an online marketplace based in Morocco, aimed at facilitating the buying and selling of a wide range of products. The project involved refining an existing MVP built on WordPress, with a focus on enhancing user experience and adding new features to improve functionality for both vendors and buyers.

Objective:

To collaborate with the CEO and the development team to ideate and implement new features, streamline the user journey, and enhance the overall usability of the platform from product browsing to tracking shipments and payments.

🍃 The MVP Problem

When I first engaged with Odhiya.ma, the marketplace had recently launched its MVP on WordPress. However, the platform faced significant challenges in attracting buyers and facilitating seamless transactions for sellers. The existing system lacked advanced search functionalities, an intuitive navigation structure, and essential tools for vendors to manage their listings and sales efficiently.
Recognizing the need for a comprehensive solution to enhance user experience and operational efficiency, we embarked on a mission to redesign the platform. Our goal was to transform Odhiya.ma into a user-friendly marketplace that effectively connects sellers with buyers, making the process of browsing products, managing sales, and tracking orders straightforward and efficient.

👤 User Pain Points

1. Complex Navigation: Users struggled with the existing navigation system, finding it difficult to locate products quickly and efficiently due to an unintuitive menu structure.
2. Inefficient Search Functionality The search feature lacked advanced filters and sorting options, resulting in irrelevant search results and user frustration.
3. Clunky User Interface The outdated and inconsistent UI made it challenging for users to perform basic tasks, leading to a steep learning curve and deterring new users.
4. Limited Vendor Tools Vendors faced difficulties managing listings, tracking sales, and processing payments due to insufficient and cumbersome tools.
5. Non-Existent / Poor Shipment Tracking The platform lacked a shipment tracking feature, causing uncertainty for buyers regarding the status of their orders. One of my key responsibilities was to ideate and integrate a robust shipment tracking system into the new design.
6. Payment Processing Issues The payment system was not seamless, leading to abandoned carts and incomplete transactions, affecting overall trust and reliability of the platform.

🎯 Objectives

Primary Objective:

To ease the purchasing and transaction processes between vendors and buyers on the Odhiya.ma platform.
Enhance Navigation: Create an intuitive and user-friendly navigation system to facilitate easy browsing of products.

Specific Goals:

Improve Search Functionality: Implement advanced search filters and sorting options to help users find relevant products quickly.
Develop Vendor Tools: Provide robust tools for vendors to manage listings, track sales, and process payments efficiently.
Integrate Shipment Tracking: Design and implement a shipment tracking feature to keep buyers informed about their order status.
Streamline Payment Processing: Ensure a seamless and reliable payment system to reduce cart abandonment and increase successful transactions.
