South Central Hotel

Design meets legacy: reimagining Bronzeville’s South Central Hotel.
The South Central Hotel in Bronzeville was more than a building. It was a refuge. Listed in The Green Book from 1950 to 1957, it welcomed Black travelers when few doors were open to them. Today, its future is uncertain.
Imagine it reborn as a boutique hotel and community hub. Honoring history while fueling Bronzeville’s art, food, and culture. That’s the vision we explore in our latest case study.
