PDF Query.ai is a genuinely useful AI tool buried under a decade-old design. I took it on as a speculative redesign, no client brief, full creative control, to show exactly what happens when you strip the clutter, sharpen the message, and design for where the market is going, not where it's been.

This wasn't a client project. It was a deliberate experiment.

I picked PDF Query.ai because it represents a pattern I see constantly across the SaaS space, a genuinely useful AI product that's being suffocated by its own presentation. Outdated design. Unclear copy. Too many competing actions on a single screen. A homepage that looked like it was built in 2012 and never revisited since.

So I redesigned it from scratch using my full process: messaging hierarchy, visual identity audit, layout restructure, and a complete hero overhaul. No client brief. No constraints. Just the question: what would this look like if someone who cares about conversion designed it from day one?

The result is what PDF Query.ai could be, and what any AI tool in this space should be aiming for.
