THE PEACOCK | Creative Writing, Essay & Editorial Project
The Peacock is a personal essay published on TABLE FOR NOBODY about solitude, attraction, vanity, and the absurd things we do when someone makes us feel alive again.
Set in a Berlin shelter, the piece follows a man who catches himself performing the role of the charming gentleman, moving between rooms, offering unsolicited advice, and trying to look completely unbothered. He knows exactly what he's doing. He just can't stop.
The project combines autobiographical storytelling, dark humour, literary observation, and an unpolished, conversational voice. It explores the gap between the person we think we are and the ridiculous creature we become when we want to be liked.
