The Hands that Made Me

Written, directed and shot by Shaina Gabala.
The Hands That Made Me is a visual love letter to the women who raised me. It was never about actual lessons, but about observing and copying them. Seeing their strength in the care, and sacrifice passed down through generations. Their hands did all the teaching and talking — rubbing balm into skin, serving food with love, wiping away tears. This piece honors the power of touch, of presence, of womanhood, period.
