Overview

EduVision is an e-learning platform built around gamification principles to drive learner engagement and course completion. The goal was to design a UX that makes structured learning feel rewarding, not tedious.

The Challenge

Traditional e-learning platforms struggle with drop-off. Learners start courses but rarely finish them. The brief was to design an experience that uses game mechanics (progress tracking, achievements, streaks, and rewards) to keep users coming back without making the interface feel gimmicky.

My Approach

User research: Mapped common drop-off points in existing e-learning flows and identified where motivation typically breaks down.
Gamification framework: Designed a progression system with XP, badges, streaks, and leaderboards tied to meaningful learning milestones, not just clicks.
Information architecture: Structured the platform around learning paths with clear visual progress, so users always know where they are and what's next.
UI design in Figma: Built a clean, component-based design system with a vibrant but focused visual language. Cards, progress bars, and achievement modals were designed to feel satisfying without cluttering the learning experience.
Mobile-first responsive design: Ensured the platform worked seamlessly across devices, since learners frequently switch between phone and desktop.

Key Design Decisions

Progress visibility everywhere: A persistent progress bar and XP counter stay visible across all screens, reinforcing momentum.
Micro-interactions for rewards: Subtle animations on badge unlocks and streak milestones to create small dopamine hits without disrupting flow.
Clean hierarchy: Despite the gamification layer, the core learning content stays front and center. Game elements support the experience, they don't compete with it.

Outcome

A platform design that balances engagement mechanics with serious learning UX, built to reduce drop-off and make course completion the default, not the exception.
