Project Overview

Weardou is an organic cotton underwear brand that dares to be different. Created for the weird, goofy dreamers who refuse to blend in, this brand identity system challenges the minimalist monotony of conventional underwear design with a bold, retro-inspired aesthetic that celebrates individuality and sustainability in equal measure.
My role was to craft a complete visual identity that stood out in a market dominated by neutral palettes and safe design choices, creating something that felt unapologetically alive, playful, and authentic to its audience, while maintaining the sophistication needed for a premium, sustainable product.

The sustainable fashion market, particularly in basics like underwear, has become visually homogeneous. Most brands rely on muted earth tones, minimal typography, and safe, forgettable aesthetics. Weardou needed to break through this sameness while:
Appealing to a younger, more expressive audience who values both sustainability and self-expression
Maintaining credibility as a premium organic product
Creating a flexible identity system that works across packaging, digital touchpoints, retail environments, and photography
Building a visual language that's bold enough to be memorable but coherent enough to scale
Balancing playfulness with the seriousness of sustainable production values

I developed a vibrant, retro-futuristic brand identity system that embraces maximalism without chaos, creating visual excitement through color, pattern, and typography while maintaining structural clarity. Visual Identity System:
Custom logotype with distinctive retro character that balances playfulness with legibility
Bold, saturated color palette that breaks category conventions
Organic pattern system inspired by vintage graphics and textile design
Modular graphic elements that create visual rhythm across all brand touchpoints
Typography pairing that combines retro display faces with clean, readable body text

Design Process & Thinking Research & Discovery: Analyzed the competitive landscape to identify visual opportunities. Studied retro design movements (70s funk aesthetics, 80s Memphis design, 90s rave culture) to build a mood board that felt fresh rather than derivative. Visual Language Development: Created multiple direction concepts before landing on the bold geometric approach. The final direction balances vintage inspiration with contemporary execution—nothing feels dated, but everything feels distinctive. System Building: Developed modular design elements that work independently but create stronger impact when combined. The pattern system, color combinations, and graphic toolkit give Weardou endless flexibility for campaigns, seasonal releases, and special editions. Collaboration: Worked closely with 3D artist Rokas Mežetis, packaging specialist Dominykas Sakalauskas, and photographer Žymantė Štankelytė to ensure visual consistency across all dimensions of the brand.

Impact & Results The Weardou identity successfully carves out a unique position in the sustainable basics category. The brand doesn't just look different—it attracts a different kind of customer: confident, creative individuals who value both environmental responsibility and personal expression. The visual system is bold enough to cut through social media noise while maintaining enough sophistication to work in premium retail environments. Early feedback indicates a strong emotional connection with the target audience, with many describing the brand as "finally, underwear that gets me." The modular design system has proven its versatility, easily adapting to new product launches, seasonal campaigns, and collaborative projects without losing brand coherence.
