Raiz began as a challenge from my brother, an agricultural engineer in Minas Gerais. His experience was mainly with sugarcane, and he wanted to grow cassava. He challenged himself to produce a good crop and asked me to build a system that would help him through the process, from planning to harvest.
Even with an agronomy background, he needed a way to organize a crop he had not worked with before. I built Raiz around that gap: practical guidance alongside the records needed to follow the field, rather than scattered notes and spreadsheets.
The dashboard shows planted area, days since planting, crop progress, field alerts and a “What should I do now?” button. Users can choose crops before filling in every technical detail, then add plot area, spacing, plant population and planting dates as the plan develops.
The app includes a field notebook for measurements, inspections, occurrences, calendars and photos, plus soil-analysis records, finance, sales and reporting modules. The weather screen loads temperature, humidity, wind and a seven-day forecast. The irrigation diary saves events and can reuse the last setup after confirmation.
I worked on the product concept, business rules, user flows and interface through AI-assisted development. The app uses HTML, CSS and JavaScript, with Supabase authentication and data integration. GitHub holds the code, and the current demo runs on Vercel.
The sales-price simulator compares direct and reseller channels using production costs, packaging, transport, losses and margins. Its results are estimates based on the entered values, rather than live market prices.
For these screenshots I set up a fictional one-hectare cassava plot, with example planting dates, measurements, irrigation and soil values. The weather forecast was loaded for the example municipality. All farm records shown are demonstration data.
Planning supports multiple crops. The detailed growing guide in this version focuses on cassava. Its guidance is educational and does not automatically calculate irrigation depth or replace an agronomist’s assessment.
The demo is packaged as one HTML file for easier updates. A client project can be delivered with separate HTML, CSS and JavaScript files, database setup or SQL scripts, configuration notes and a GitHub repository or ZIP archive.
Custom-domain setup, hosting and payment integration can be scoped with the client. Subscription access can be linked to verified payment through a supported provider; that integration is not active in this demo.
If you have a process that spreadsheets no longer handle well, tell me how it works today and what needs to improve. We can plan a focused first version and work through the details in writing, in English or Portuguese.
