Designing the covers for a collection of books about the universe
The concept
The concept is an attempt to break out of the existing spatial imaginary. It approaches the idea of 'disclosure' that the books themselves convey through the design of the covers.
This is the use of colours from the sky that we see, colours that we don't normally use to represent the universe. Together with minimalist illustrations that represent the theme of each book, enhanced by the printed finishes.
The driving element of the concept is "spatial movements" (orbits, waves).
The design
The application of this concept is a simple illustration showcased in holographic foiled. And the spatial movements associated with it.
Holographic foil in the main element (moon, gravity, universe).
Embossing on movements and waves.

Jackets
To provide context for the change in the colour palette, I included a starry dust jacket. It contains all the necessary information about the book, including the title, author, summary and publisher.
Additionally, the back cover features two stickers that provide claim information for each book, utilizing holographic finishes.
