Lebano’s cigarette-inspired flip-top packaging reimagines Middle Eastern fusion playful, and rooted in heritage through bold form and Moroccan patterning.
Lebano is a Middle Eastern fusion restaurant known for its bold flavors and unconventional presentations, blending traditional recipes with modern culinary experimentation. The brand has built a reputation for transforming familiar Middle Eastern favorites into unexpected formats, creating dishes that surprise both visually and experientially while still staying rooted in authentic taste and heritage.
The brand approached us to develop a unique packaging experience for a signature dish whose form visually resembles a cigarette. Without altering the existing brand identity or logo, our goal was to amplify the storytelling around the product and translate the brand’s personality into a memorable physical experience.
Inspired by the familiar flip-top structure of cigarette boxes, we created a packaging form that mirrors the product’s shape and enhances the ritual of opening and consuming it. The tactile act of flipping open the lid adds anticipation and elevates the dining interaction into something playful and surprising. We retained the brand’s established color palette to maintain strong recognition and continuity across touchpoints.
To deepen the cultural expression, we introduced a Moroccan tile pattern into the design as a nod to traditional Middle Eastern visual language and craftsmanship. This subtle yet meaningful layer infused authenticity, texture, and visual richness, balancing modern fusion with heritage.
The result is a packaging experience that bridges culture and creativity, while celebrating Lebano’s bold culinary narrative.
