MC&C Terrazzo - Case Study

Overview

MC&C (Mário Cunha & Cunha) is a Portuguese company specialising in the supply and installation of terrazzo surfaces - floors, walls, outdoor areas, and custom-fabricated pieces. Operating across Europe with projects in Portugal, Germany, and beyond, they needed a website that matched the premium, crafted nature of their work and could serve both Portuguese and English-speaking audiences.

The Brief

The UI/UX designer delivered a complete Figma file. My responsibility was full Webflow development - translating every design detail into a live, functioning, production-ready website with no compromises on what the design intended.

What I Built

This was a full multi-page Webflow build covering every page of the site from start to finish - Homepage, Terrazzo, Process, Projects, About, and Contact - including all interactions, animations, CMS architecture, and responsive behaviour across breakpoints.
The scope included several technically demanding requirements that needed careful problem-solving rather than simplified workarounds.

The Technical Challenges

CMS Architecture & Dynamic Project Modals

The Projects section required more than a standard CMS collection. Each project needed its own pop-up modal containing unique content specific to that project - not a generic overlay, but a dynamically populated modal tied to each individual CMS item. Setting this up correctly in Webflow required careful CMS field structuring and interaction design so that each project card triggered its own distinct modal with the right content, reliably, across the entire collection.

Bilingual Localization

The entire site was built with full PT/EN localization - every page, every section, every CMS entry available in both Portuguese and English with a language switcher in the navigation. Setting up Webflow's localization system across a multi-page, CMS-heavy site requires systematic thinking - every content field, every interaction, every page must be accounted for in both languages without breaking the site's structure.

Responsiveness Across All Features

Making a standard site responsive is straightforward. Making a site responsive when it contains CMS-powered modals, carousels, multi-language content, and complex interactions is a different challenge entirely. Every feature had to be tested and adjusted across breakpoints to ensure nothing broke at tablet or mobile - not just visually, but functionally.

Fidelity to the Design

Where Webflow's native capabilities created friction with the designer's vision, the approach was never to default to "that's not possible." Every constraint was treated as a problem to solve - finding ways to achieve what the design intended, or delivering the closest functional alternative where pixel-perfect match required a creative technical solution.

The Result

The result is a fully deployed, live website that MC&C continues to use and grow - now featuring real project photography, client accreditations, and updated content. The site serves a European client based in two languages, handles a growing portfolio of projects through its CMS, and reflects premium positioning of a company whose work appears in airports, office, buildings, and private residences across the continent.

What This Project Demonstrates

Full Webflow development from a Figma file. Multi-page CMS architecture including a dynamic modal population per collection item. CMS content inside custom carousel interactions. Full PT/EN localization across a multi-page site. Complex responsive implementation across all interactive features. Commitment to design fidelity - solving for what the design requires rather than defaulting to simpler alternatives.
