What If Claude Disappears Like It Never Existed? What Will Designers Do?
It's a question I ask myself all the time.
Today, many designers rely on AI tools like Claude for ideation, content generation, UX writing, research, and even coding support. These tools have become deeply integrated into our daily workflows, helping us move faster and make better decisions.
But what if Claude disappeared tomorrow as if it never existed?
The reality is that great designers would continue designing.
Why? Because tools don't create expertise—people do.
Before AI, designers conducted research, wrote user flows, crafted interfaces, and solved complex problems using their own knowledge and creativity. AI has accelerated these processes, but it hasn't replaced the fundamental skills behind them.
The designers who will thrive in the future are not those who depend entirely on AI, but those who use it as a multiplier of their existing abilities.
AI is powerful. It's changing the industry. But design thinking, empathy, problem-solving, and strategic decision-making remain human skills.
If Claude disappeared tomorrow, the best designers would adapt, learn new tools, and keep creating value—because their true strength was never the tool. It was always their ability to solve problems.
Tools come and go. Design thinking endures.
