For this project at Heritage Museums & Gardens on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, a serious overhaul was in order. The museum's 1908 Charles Looff carousel is a signature piece (not to mention, a priceless antique). No visit to Heritage is complete without a ride on the carousel! Unfortunately, the exhibit presented interpretive content in boring word document pages, in a 3-ring binder, on a shelf. Needless to say, visitors NEVER read it. I took the same content (full of historical fun facts and the amazing story of the carousel and its maker) and transformed it into a wall mural, complete with hand-drawn illustrations and touchable elements (real horse hair, fake sparkly jewels). The inspiration for the graphic treatment was a combination of the art nouveau carvings on the carousel itself combined with the format of recent young adult non-fiction graphic novels.

Content creation included exhibition text writing, hand-drawn illustrations, graphic design, and installation (yup, with actual wallpaper paste!).
