Problem
The client’s email list contained disengaged subscribers, threatening deliverability and inbox placement. They had no consistent system for re-engagement or removal, relied on manual checks, and risked accidentally unsubscribing paying clients or missing subscribers due to integration quirks with ThriveCart.
Solution
An automated subscriber list cleanup that also protected clients & customers from being accidentally unsubscribed.

Process
Audit & Planning: Reviewed all entry points (freebies, ThriveCart, existing tags) and mapped out exclusions for paying clients and special cases.
Automation Build: Created two visual automations:
Engagement check that monitored subscriber activity and routed them accordingly.
A 90-day re-check loop to ensure subscribers were automatically reviewed over time.
Quality Control: Built safeguards with tags and checks to prevent unsubscribing current customers. Added logic to capture subscribers missed through integrations.
Documentation: Delivered video walkthroughs, a tag reference chart, and written guides explaining the new automations and how to maintain them.
Outcome/Results
The client now has a sustainable, automated system that:
Reviews every subscriber’s engagement every 90 days.
Protects active clients and ensures they are excluded from cleanup.
Reduces manual list checks and errors.
Provides clear documentation so the client’s team can manage and update the system confidently.
