It is a given that I don't watch a series without paying attention to a certain character. There will always be "the one" that stays on top but the bottom line is, I could easily dive into a pool of masculine choices but when it comes to handpicking in a tremendous queue of female characters, I tend to be over-scrupulous. I have a natural fondness for strong women and I always look up to them just as I've admired Katniss Everdeen from Catching Fire. Yes, she is my ultimate “waifu” in the terrifying world of Hunger Games. However, it varies in anime. I love strong women in any aspect of life and no matter what genre they may belong to, my love and appreciation for them will never change.

Here's to all the ladies who inspired me to be the best at whatever I am going through,

May we know them, may we be them, may we raise them.

Nico Robin

Miss All Sunday secured all eyes locked on her so she staged herself sitting on a higher spot of going merry on the quest of liberating the Alabasta Kingdom. Danger fluxed across her navy blue eyes as she forked over a smile seductively, that almost felt insulting yet vigorous. The tanned-skin beauty that flaunts a revealing cowgirl outfit gave her a welcoming introduction but it was never enough for anyone to trust her because of the unreachable villainess surrounding her. Truth be told, she belonged in darkness longer than forever. It created a preposterous illusion judging her as the mistress of evil. Hence, she was named the "devil child". Flashback to the past, at the age of eight, she was widely known as an infamous child who hitherto designed her as a criminal for existing. The bounty on her head proves how powerful the Hana-Hana fruit user is powerful—that her talent is a curse, but no one cares for her as a victim. As a result, her story was overlooked by those who chose to be ignorant and well-played by her enemies. Curious, I started to gain great attention to her. Why despite all these accusations, feigned facts, destructive lies, and the in-between, the profound feelings of regard are surely determinate. But one fateful encounter sparked a massive development. Despite all the kicks she received and the unfair treatment she engaged, that corrupted her violently, somehow along the lines, Nico Robin has always believed she would meet her Nakama who would fight for her to the ends of the earth. Even after accepting the harsh reality due to the lack of hope for a silver lining, I've seen her silent desperate wishes to have a home through her eyes and I sincerely cried when she did. The seventh member of the Strawhat Pirates is not the kind of beauty that is loud and clear. She is not the kind of beauty who goes to a pool party to relax. She's the kind of beauty who finds peace and tranquility in books. Her elegance and lady-like manner is the result of not wanting to let her guard down and her strong-willed behavior reflects her trust issues.

She is the kind of beauty that needs utmost comprehension for she is a closed book waiting for her words to be heard, screaming "I want to stay alive!".

Mikasa Ackerman

Mikasa has always been strong and supportive when it comes to someone she cares deeply about, particularly Eren. The bond and trust she shared with him is unrivaled yet, there was a strange loneliness that captivated her true feelings. It rendered her unable to show emotions often seen as quiet and distanced. The reason was rather plain vague for she likes to keep her privacy and is seldom bound to create a digression when such a topic arises. Has she always known the answer to her question? Perhaps because of the clan or because of the blood. but Mikasa brushes off this overthinking. She has too much on her plate and it is useless to feed more thoughts into it, particularly when they are fighting for their lives and their differences in beliefs. For her, it is inconsequential at least to Eren. I have always admired her not just as a distinctively tough female character in the series but as a grown woman she became— how she championed her battles, how she faced every obstacle, and how she swallowed her fears to become strong enough to protect those she holds dear. Regardless, there's a tremendous nostalgia between her and her savior which is why there's absolutely no easy way out to detach the two when all she did was to keep him alive and safe. Despite the harsh words and straightforwardness she received, she proceeded as understanding as she could for the reason he didn't mean any of them and that they just do have a sturdy divergence on how they want to protect each other. Albeit the breath of desperation of wanting to stay beside Eren posed a line of impossibility, she remained calm for she has always known the worst would happen sooner than later. but Mikasa had once seized the translucent fortune flashing in front of her to syllogize the future untold. She knew one day, she'd let go of the scarf. She knew the time would come when her frozen emotions would thaw and she would find herself soaked in her tears. Yet, Mikasa is aware she's not cut out for these breakdowns. How many times she had taught herself to be fixed and steady? How many times she had dampened her hands with Titans' blood? She's more than what others think about her. She has way better adjectives than just an emotional human being with no other reason to live except to keep Eren alive. She is powerful, she's a champion, she protects, she's an achiever, she provides, she contributes, and she knows how to give love.

So to the woman whose passion is to protect the people she loves and whose fear is drenched in cold blood to clot the bravest scar and strongest wound into revolution and power, to the woman whose loyalty is unshakeable and whose love cannot be defined simply by her actions but by her unwinding faith, long live.

Machi Komacine

It was a ghastly evening that night when the pink-haired beauty prolonged her patience and waited until the fourth spider finished his death match in heaven's arena. She was currently hired to stitch him back to normality after severing his arm. Machi did this for the sake of (1) the phantom troupe members, (2) the order from the boss (3) and the money she gets, other than that, she has no reason to aid the suspicious troublesome affiliate. Her strong sense of judgment has been telling her for a while the need to supersede the magician immediately; the joke was on her hesitancy to her impressions later on. Her sinewy grasp of her surroundings and engagement with different people is truly excellent. Behind the transmuter's overall deadpan look casts a huge shadow reserving a hidden talent. She is seen on most occasions dressed in a traditional Japanese outfit with fingerless gloves and seeks comfort in a one-knot tie hairstyle. Machi has always been loyal to the group, especially to their leader, Chrollo. And I, by all means, am not a Phantom Troupe apologist but being one of the original spiders has a perfect ring on it, for she, despite her height, is very independent and a powerful nen user. She is a jaw-dropping intellectual ally, a dangerous woman you would not dare to mess with. I am also inclined to think of the depth of her prowess. Although I am disappointed due to the dearth of background information about her, I still can savor her gift. Her nen-stitching technique can come in handy and definitely can support an entire group with her healing capabilities. Although she's unable to express most of her emotions, she is reliable and does care about the members.

Yes, she's a woman who can hold a gun and doesn't need a man.

Misaki Ayuzawa

Everything about Misaki is cool. As the outstanding president of Seika High School’s student council, this maiden beauty carries a huge responsibility of keeping their school in policies and regulations as well as providing unbreakable protection for the girls from advantageous boys, to which she earned ill-nicknames from the latter and received a bad reputation from them. Having been abandoned by her father with an enormous debt that caused a lot of trouble to her as both a student and as a daughter, Misaki strived to reach her goals in hopes of disseminating power over unreliable men. It can't be helped though, for she was caged by the harsh reality and this was her answer. This was her ultimate solution. This was her Thor's Mjolnir. It’s not only that she has an essential stand in their school but she has all the qualifications to defend it in times of trouble. What's pretty amazing is that the feminine youngster interpolated a mark by herself that she doesn't need a man to get all her needs and amenities. She can do it and she would. And to accomplish all of her desires, she needed to have a job to support her goals in life. That's why, everything about Misaki is cool... until her secret has been found out.

The school's hottest guy and the moron trio made their way into her life somehow. Misaki had never been so embarrassed. She felt the weight of the world hammered her malleable pride and there was no escape. Her alluring maid counterpart at the maid latte café was accidentally just revealed to people— to boys, to be specific, she wanted to see her in that flashy outfit the least, and so the actual story began. To some of the viewers and readers, Misaki is a typical tsundere who finds relief in expressing her anger to the boys. But in real life, Misaki represents people who have extreme trust issues to some extent. One pain is enough to turn her life into suffrage. So I would still say, despite all her flaws and ironed walls, everything about Misaki is cool. Her independence, willingness to help others, her sacrifices for her family, and her character development throughout, show she's a perfect femme fatale prototype and I wouldn't be surprised if Usui had seen this from the start.

Yumeko Jabami

Sugar, spice, and irresistible vice. The new transfer student is everything to look out for. She has remarkable beauty and a steaming attractive aura wrapped around her body. But behind that lovely smile, hides a completely different personality, all thanks to gambling. She is the mistress of karma all burning with passion and merciless red flames.

Mary saw her opponent's red lipstick that sometimes gave her a pink blush smile. she just sat there across her rookie competitor putting all the innocence to the cards in her hands. Mary put the fashion into passion and laid her fate to her maids. She wore waterproof makeup and a fierce eyeliner that sharpened her eyes. She made sure her brows were on the flick and her perfume was strong enough to stand out. Mary was now confident. The odds were in her favor. Yet, the red lipstick kept on forming dark shiny glitters. It wasn't like that at the beginning of the game. It was rosy and contagiously sweet. It didn't feel like the girl sitting across her was wearing horns and a tail. She thought she was the wolf in sheep's clothing, but alas, her contender was the wolf, she'd see her coming. Now, Mary was petrified. She couldn't move at all. She felt her arms tied around her back and her feet were frozen. Her entire body was shaking. She had completely underestimated her opponent. The red lipstick grinned like an idiot. It stared until Mary's makeup melted, unmasking her horrified bare face. It exposed her treachery that she was a fake and she was hiding under a blanket of lies. She believed in her covers. She relied too much on concealing her own beauty. Mary was too little too late to make excuses to retouch. She couldn't undo the damage inflicted. Mary wasn't a fan of that ending. Something stuck her in the middle of her revelation. It kept on pushing and pushing its way until it hit right off the bat. She couldn't forgive and forget. Is this the point where people usually say there's nothing left to do?

The truth is, they are always on the phone. It started with a conversation and then straight to the bedroom. What a shame! They're not even in a hotel with a getaway car but Mary, what a horrible, terrible cheater you are. you might end up winning but you will soon end up kissing the bare foot of this stained loyalty. His Highness has a strong hate for those faithful cheaters such as yourself and he has an army to break your damn paper castle. I can only tell. trust and guts are honest answers. I'm glad you'd shade the right circle on your next exam papers. Yumeko is such a damsel but not in distress. She strips down the ignorance and innocence of her competitors naturally without raising difficulty, despite it may seem harmful and ruthless. But that's the catch on why I am drawn to her seductiveness. It’s poisonous and sinful yet I guess if you're that committed to anything or anyone, you can win any games you want to play so she played hard.

Fuwa Aika

Aika knew this would happen and she was prepared. She had full certainty that her actions would make a fruitful contribution to her loved ones both Yoshino and Mahiro. One of the fearless female protagonists despite her cold and aloof personality. As the magician of Zetsuen, Aika didn't have much freedom and restraint for herself. Nonetheless, she was lucky to have met an overprotective stepbrother and a caring significant other. Her imprisonment in the conflict of legends of trees was somewhat forgotten for a while due to the memories she spent with them. Apart from being courageous, Aika is very intelligent, not to mention, she shares the features of an angel too. Her personality is mysterious but undoubtedly mesmerizing. I found myself locked up in her scripts playing detective and a murderer. thanks to the tree of exodus she can foresee the future. I was amazed by her self-sacrifice when she did go up with her conclusion and followed the book she believed would save Yoshino and Mahiro. Determined more than ever, Aika didn't have regrets at all for her only failure would be if someone made her loved ones cry. Her eccentric personality prevented her from having fair acquaintances but she had accepted this piece of disappointment when she met those boys. She'd even harm herself and her parents just to make everything according to her will. The petite beauty had never been so unsure of her steps. I, on the other side of the universe, would gladly wish to inherit that kind of chivalry. She is powerful and unafraid of any faithful encounters. She was born ready to always go to unknown places. She is her own will, she acts wholeheartedly so she can be grateful for herself in the future. She is boundless, her only limit is her unimaginable scripts. Tempest or Hamlet, so be it, all's well that ends well.

Yosano Akiko

And the doctor is in.

She, whose healing prowess is so beautiful yet fascinating. A gift so alive, purple glow scattered to reveal its magic. Yosano performed her miraculous thou shalt not die to her patient, simultaneously showing the dancing of her vivid lavender slits in minutes with butterflies that highlighted the intense expression all over her face. Every tick of the clock is very essential not only for her intangible ability but for her fatally damaged patient as well. The agency's doctor is careful. She knows how her power works well and how it can become a formidable enemy if taken advantage of. For every patient she saves, she is reminded of her bitter past. One that stayed immutable in the back of her mind and the guilt and the conscience would rather compete than complement. The flux of reality across the present is engraved in her heart and even though she was saved from her former boss, it is tattooed in her of the complicated need to be saved. But she remained faithful. What were the words of hope again? "Join the agency". Ah, those words. Ranpo's version of recruitment didn't need permission from her to agree. it was the opposite. She was the one who needed the ticket to join. Or perhaps it's none of the above and they both need each other. Yosano fought back and reclaimed her pride as a life-saver. She even earned the respect of her colleagues because of that. Not that it was a god-given opportunity but she too is a wholesome character. With her combat skills, quick wits, and alpha-type personality, there's no way the doctor is out. I love how disciplined she is. Aside from taking care of her colleagues, she takes good care of herself too. My angel, you've done more than enough. And I'm forever grateful that I get to encounter someone like you. A woman whose heart was shattered into a million pieces but fixed it with her own hands for Thou Shalt Not Die is not only for her patients but also is a medicine for her wounds too. A ten-fold kudos to the queen of my heart.
