The Brief
Hu.To.MaN (short for "human to human") is a casual ready-to-wear menswear brand at a mid price point. The brand's core idea is celebrating the people behind the clothes: the tailors, the pattern makers, the hands that actually build each piece. The identity needed to carry that human-first philosophy.
The Approach
Competitor research mapped the landscape, but the real focus was finding the brand's core. Everything came back to one word: human. The identity had to feel human-made, human-like, and crafted. Not polished to the point of feeling machine-generated, but intentional and warm.
Key Decisions
Three different typefaces are used together in the identity, each symbolizing the many characters and personalities that make up the human experience. The unconventional capitalization in the name (Hu.To.MaN) reinforces that idea of individuality and imperfection. The visual system leans into texture, craft, and warmth rather than the sleek minimalism most menswear brands default to.
Deliverables
Full brand identity system including logo, visual identity, brand guidelines, collateral, and print design.
