I completed an exercise where I was tasked to redesign an annual report for a company of my choosing. I decided to do this redesign for Spotify since they are a company that I admire and have an aesthetic that I enjoy. Shown above are some of my favorite spreads from this book that I believe has a good show of layout, typography, and unique interpretation of the Spotify brand.
My goal was to create an annual report reminiscent of the iconic year-end Spotify Wrapped and to bring a human touch to it as well as a sense of individuality and fun to something normally thought of as boring.
I went through a few drafts but in the end, I settled on graphic shapes and doodles made in Illustrator and more experimental typography for the titles but a structured look for the body copy to balance everything out. All in all, this was an incredibly fun exercise and I enjoyed both the process and the outcome.
