Unifying the delivery ecosystem for restaurants

Context

Sitedish provides the digital backbone for takeaway and delivery restaurants. Through Strakzat, I worked as part of the team on the end-to-end ecosystem restaurants rely on day to day, spanning online and in-store ordering, kitchen processing, driver dispatch and post-purchase communication.
Beyond the ordering website, this included a self-service ordering kiosk for in-store use, a tablet interface for the kitchen to process incoming orders, and a delivery app to guide drivers with pickup and drop-off instructions.

Problem

Restaurants using Sitedish touched the product across five different surfaces: the ordering website, the in-store kiosk, kitchen processing, driver dispatch and post-purchase communication. Each had grown somewhat independently, which made the experience feel disjointed and made it harder to build new features consistently across every touchpoint.
At the same time, every restaurant on the platform wanted their own brand to come through, which meant the system needed to support real visual customization without turning every restaurant into a one-off, custom-built product.

Approach

I owned the design of the full service flow and translated the most important parts into a scalable design system built from reusable components, so the website, kiosk, kitchen and driver experiences could share the same foundations instead of drifting apart over time.
To solve the branding challenge, I set the system up around design tokens rather than one-off customization: with just a logo, a single accent color and a chosen font, a restaurant gets a website that feels distinctly their own, while the underlying components, spacing and interaction patterns stay consistent and easy to maintain across every restaurant on the platform.

Solution

The result was a unified ordering website, an in-store ordering kiosk, a kitchen tablet interface for processing incoming orders and a driver app for delivery instructions, all built on the same design system so they behave and feel like one connected product rather than five separate tools.
The white-label setup meant restaurants could launch with a website that matched their branding almost immediately, without a bespoke design process for every new customer, while the core components stayed shared and consistent behind the scenes.

Impact

The redesign now runs daily across roughly 4,000 restaurants and serves more than 20,000 end users, with the five separate touchpoints unified into one cohesive design ecosystem. Standardizing on reusable UI components cut development time for new features by around 30%, and the white-label system made it possible to give every restaurant a distinct, on-brand experience without compromising the consistency or usability of the underlying product.
