MXY Cinema High-Fidelity Prototype/App

My role in this project was to create a movie theater app that offered more user functionality for all variety of users unlike other movie theater apps. The target audience was originally towards younger people ages 18-40 but I ended up wanting my target audience to be all ages.

My initial concept was to list times, quantity, and movie information on all one page but that made it harder to navigate and understand. I didn't give users the options to choose their seating, nor did I consider the possibility of a user having a disability and needing specific seating designed towards their needs.

After the usability study to finalize the application, I changed my prototypes and wireframes entire design. I included a variety of seating, a more visually appealing design, nutritional information when it came to our snacks at the theatre for any users who may have dietary restrictions or concerns, and to make all text larger so that users of any age had an easy time reading and understanding the information being shown through the application.

At the highest level, what problem did you solve, and who did you solve it for?

Goals/Requirements: Add some goals or requirements that helped get this project to the finish line. • My goal was to design an app to help users watch movies, watch movie trailers, order snacks easily for the movie, and purchase tickets. • Have seating for all consumers

My problem/ key constraint was that all users go to movie theatres, so I needed to make sure that the application was easily legible and simple to follow for all ages while making options limited and easier to create when finalizing which movie consumers wanted to see and finding their seats. I ended up adding a variety of seating and making my prototype easy to follow and read for all ages.

In the end, I feel that my final prototype was dedicated towards an easy and simple app for movie theatres and their selections for seating as well as snacks in the theatre.

In the future, I would like to add a readable menu selection for users who could potentially have visual constraints and/or difficulty understanding/retaining information and that needs assistance when making selections.
