Overview

GatherGood is a volunteer-powered 501(c)(3) community initiative based in the Raleigh-Durham area. The organization runs local events, fundraising campaigns, and long-term scholarship programs for displaced Palestinian students.
I partnered with Sharif Elshinnawi (Creative Director) and the GatherGood team to turn their Figma designs into a production Webflow site, including the Dreamweaver endowment experience and core pages that drive donations, mentorship signups, and community participation.
Live site: gathergood.org Dreamweaver / Endowment: gathergood.org/endowment
The challenge
GatherGood’s mission is emotional and urgent, but the website had to do more than inspire. It needed to:
Explain Dreamweaver (the endowment program) clearly
Drive donations and campaign participation
Present real student stories with dignity
Support mentorship and volunteer pathways
Reflect the brand Sharif and Karmel built in Figma — warm, human, and trustworthy
Ship under a tight timeline without breaking layout quality on mobile
Nonprofit sites fail when the cause is clear but the next step is not. We designed the build around specific actions: donate, mentor, join events, read transparency updates.

My role

Webflow development + implementation from client Figma files, with layout refinement, responsive QA, and launch support.
Sharif and his team led creative direction and design. I translated that system into Webflow, handled component buildout, interactions, CMS-ready structure where needed, and pre-launch testing.

What the site supports (public program context)

From GatherGood’s published program pages and reports:
Dreamweaver / Endowment — scholarships and mentorship for displaced Palestinian students
Community events — including the Watermelon 5K and local Sunday meetups
Transparency — public reporting on funds raised and how donations are used
Volunteer model — 100% volunteer-run organization
GatherGood also publishes impact figures on the site (scholarships deployed, students supported, schools and countries represented). See their homepage, endowment page, and transparency report for current numbers.

Build focus

1. Figma → Webflow fidelity

The design language is people-first: photography, bold headlines, and clear CTAs. I preserved spacing, typography hierarchy, and section rhythm while adapting layouts for real content lengths and mobile breakpoints.

2. Dreamweaver storytelling

The endowment page needed to connect urgency with long-term impact:
Student stories
Donation and mentorship CTAs
Program mechanics (fundraising → mentorship → pay-it-forward)
Partner and advisor credibility
I structured the Webflow build so these sections stay scannable and donation paths stay obvious on phone and desktop.

3. Donation and campaign readiness

GatherGood runs time-sensitive fundraising (events, endowment pushes, community campaigns). The build prioritizes:
Clear primary CTAs (Donate, Get Involved, Mentor Dreams)
Section order that supports both first-time visitors and returning supporters
Stable components that the team can reuse as campaigns evolve

4. Mobile-first QA

Most community traffic arrives on mobile. I tested forms, anchors, buttons, and long-scroll sections on small screens so event and donation flows do not break during live campaigns.

5. Collaboration under pressure

Sharif’s team moved fast on creative. My job was to keep implementation calm: clarify blockers early, protect design intent, and ship a site the organization could confidently share during fundraising windows.

Client feedback

"One of the best developers I've ever worked with in my entire life. With an unfair timeline pulled off the impossible we will never work with anyone else again."

— Sharif Elshinnawi, Creative Director, GatherGood (Contra review)

"He is a high-end professional who takes a great deal of pride in his work. We feel very fortunate to have found him."

Outcome

GatherGood launched a Webflow site that matches their brand vision and supports real-world fundraising and program growth — including the Dreamweaver endowment experience and the main community site.
The project is verified on Contra, with Sharif listed as collaborator and GatherGood linked as the organization.
