Project description. Designed the GLAIde experience to support learners with AI-driven doubt clearing and video summarisation. Led research with 15 users across experience levels. Key features included timestamped AI answers, chapter summary cards, “Explain Like I'm 5” mode, and voice-based doubt entry. 78% of doubts were resolved without mentor help, and CSAT reached 92%. The tool became a trusted, judgment-free learning companion, boosting understanding, confidence, and revision.

GLAIde was designed to support Great Learning’s postgraduate learners by providing real-time, AI-powered doubt resolution and intelligent chapter summarization. The aim was to help students engage deeply with learning content, especially during self-study and revision, without always relying on mentors or peer support.

Learners were often hesitant to ask basic questions in public forums, felt overwhelmed during revision, and needed better tools to recall or clarify concepts without disrupting their study flow. GLAIde aimed to become a trusted AI companion—offering immediate, personalized, and empathetic learning support directly inside the LMS.

We conducted a mixed-method study with 15 users across varying stages of the program: early learners, advanced learners, and working professionals. Our methodology included:

Expectations vs. Reality: Users wanted simple, clear explanations, not textbook-style complexity.

Use Cases: Doubt resolution while watching videos, quick review before tests, post-live session clarification, and commute learning.

Emotional Triggers: Anxiety around asking “basic” questions, gratitude for quick help, and increased confidence post-answer.

Trust Factors: Timestamps, contextual cues, relatable tone, and source anchoring built confidence.

Usability Observations: Users needed prompt suggestions, clearer UI placement for summarization, and better organization of multiple AI responses.

Embedded Intelligence: AI summaries and doubt resolution integrated within the video player and content pages, with one-click doubt submission from any timestamp.

Personalization: “Explain Like I’m 5” mode, tone adjustment for beginner vs. advanced learners, and multiple example formats.

Conversational AI: Friendly prompts like “Looks like you're stuck here…” and positive reinforcement messages like “Nice work!”

Revision Tools: Downloadable summary cards, quiz-based recaps, and summary deck export for offline use.

GLAIde evolved from a chatbot into a personalized AI tutor that listens, clarifies, and reassures. By integrating empathetic UX and real-time AI, we built a safe space for learners to ask, understand, and progress without judgment. It’s more than just a feature—it’s a confidence-building companion for modern learners.
