Redefining trust in the service industry

Maverick Garage Doors is a new-generation garage door company operating across Victoria, Australia. In a category defined by generic visuals and little differentiation, Maverick set out to do things differently - building a service brand rooted in precision, professionalism and genuine human warmth.
They wanted to become the company homeowners trust for life and architects collaborate with confidently - not just another logo on a van, but a reliable name people remember.

Challenge

Most players in the garage door industry look and sound the same: red-heavy color palettes, dated wordmarks, and transactional messaging focused solely on price or urgency. The challenge was to build a brand system that could stand out with confidence while bridging two distinct worlds - technical service and design collaboration.
We needed to position Maverick as both a credible partner for architects and a friendly, trustworthy expert for homeowners - without diluting either side of the story.

Approach

We began with a deep dive into competitor landscapes and brand perception within the home services sector. The insight was clear: while most brands leaned on “urgent” and impersonal visuals, the true opportunity lay in leading with trust, clarity, and care.
Our brand strategy defined Maverick as “The Confident Specialist with a Warm Handshake” - a brand fluent in both precision and empathy.
Visually, the identity balances geometric confidence with human tactility.
Logo system: a modern wordmark and modular “M” submark that subtly integrates the garage form - clean, structured and scalable across digital and physical touchpoints;
Color palette: refined neutrals of Pure White and Core Black, grounded in Deep Slate Teal and softened by Canvas and Linen tones, with an Impact Lime accent injecting optimism and forward energy;
Typography: a functional pairing sans serifs - bridging technical clarity and accessible warmth across every medium;
Mascot: friendly visual ambassador for homeowner-facing touchpoints, emphasizing approachability while maintaining professional credibility for premium and architect-facing contexts;
Photography: a dual approach celebrating both people and precision - authentic interactions, Australian suburban light and craftsmanship close-ups that reflect Maverick’s commitment to doing things right, first time.
To support scalability, we also introduced an AI-generated imagery suit - designed to support the brand with on-brand visuals through AI generation until large-scale original photoshoots become feasible.

Outcome

Maverick’s identity transforms how garage door service brands can show up in the modern market - reliable, confident, and genuinely human. The result is a complete, scalable brand system that works as seamlessly across van wraps and business cards as it does across digital interfaces and architectural proposals.
By moving away from industry clichés and leaning into strategic brand storytelling, Maverick now stands as a trusted long-term partner in the home and design ecosystem - credible in aesthetics, confident in expertise, and approachable in every interaction.
The new system not only elevates the company’s perception but empowers its team to grow with intention - showing that even in the most practical industries, design and strategy can redefine what trust looks like.
