Who is Captain Allie?

I created my own company, At The Helm Media, I am the captain, and I can teach you to be a captain too!



I grew up around boats and small businesses and always have had a knack for all things digital. I have a wide array of interests and needed to figure out a way to keep my thirst for knowledge hydrated. That's when I came up with the idea of At The Helm Media!

In the town where I grew up, there was no shortage of small businesses. My parents even have their own small business, and most of their friends run their own companies as well. Local businesses have always had a special place in my heart and I want to do what I can to support them. I realized that my knack for digital media could be of great use to these small businesses that I adore so much. That's when I came up with the idea to start offering my services around town. I created At The Helm Media. For those of you who may not know, a helm is a steering wheel for boats. I want to help put companies in control of their businesses in the online world. The future is digital, and many business owners I knew did not have time to learn and deal with anything online.



I graduated from Christopher Newport University, go captains, with a degree in Communication, focusing on digital media and interpersonal communication, and with minors in Graphic Design and Digital Humanities. But my love for digital media started before I even entered college. In high school, I was on the film team and in the digital media club. I grew up in Ocean City, MD and recently moved to Charleston, SC!

I mentioned my wide array of interests and thirst for knowledge earlier, but I did not mention that this manifested in my life as being a trivia buff. I love learning about different things, which is another reason I thought managing multiple companies' social media would be great for me. I would get the opportunity to learn about multiple industries! I am ready to learn about your industry, but there is a chance I already know a thing or two!

• I have worked with real estate, donuts, bars, crabs, cosmetics, solar panel installation, home inspections, and more!
