Three Girls Bakery is the first business in the city of Seattle that was licensed to a woman and has been operating in Pike Place Market since 1912 now becoming the oldest booth in the market! Originally started by "Mrs. Jones and two of her friends", it has become a staple for the locals and the Levy family took over the business in 1979 and has continued to run it ever since.

Brand Refresh

Before diving into designing, I took my time to learn the history and story behind the bakery which helped me drive the future identity. We learned that the bakery serves as a landmark in Pike Place history, showing how the business stayed resilient even during harsh times like The Great Depression. The majority of recipes that are served have also been passed down for generations and most of the bakers are self-taught on family tradition.
In the brand refresh, it was important to highlight history, resilience, and handcraft as the main highlights of Three Girls Bakery's identity.

Logomarks

Despite the literal approach, illustrating the three girls walking in line highlights the significance of current and past generations who have worked in the bakery as well as those who enjoyed its tasty treats.
