Manchester United have been handed a huge boost in their race for bologna and Dutch prospect Joshua Zirkzee The striker who scored 12 goals last season for Italian side bologna has been subject of repeated offers from Manchester united with the last negotiations halted as a result of Manchester United failing to meet the demands of the striker’s agent however there could be fresh spark in a move with the Italian club confirming that the striker will 99.9 per cent leave the Italian club this summer
Speaking to sky sports news the club sporting director Riccardo Sartori on Monday evening stated that he expects Zirkzee to leave the club this summer as opposed to young defender Riccardo Caliafori who the club intend on keeping. Zirkzee will be looking to make the move to the English club despite the club being out of champion’s league for the new season. It could be recalled that bologna bought the youngster from Bayern Munich and he has gone on to make 37 appearance scoring twelve goals. With the new season looking to be competitive Manchester united will look to strengthen their squad with the Netherlands international. Manchester united however are not short of options having previously considered Celtic striker Victor Gyokeres. Zirkzee attributes of physical body presence will provide an alternative to Rasmund Holjund who is not known for physical ability, Manchester United will face a battle with Seria A side AC Milan who are said to be keeping tabs on the Dutch-Nigerian striker. there is no certainty as of yet considering it is early in the transfer window with most players focusing on their country duties. Zirkzee is currently part of the Netherlands team that are preparing to face of with Romania in the round of 16 clash being a late call to the side for injured Kopmieners. Zirkzee has had youth spells at ado den hag and Bayern Munich before joining bologna in the summer of 2022
