The Grey Cup Festival is Canada’s largest sporting event and in 2025 it is hosted by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The official website’s hero section features a custom 3D animation designed to set the tone for the event, represent Winnipeg, and engage visitors the moment they land on the page. The animation is also used across social media.
MY ROLE
As the 3D Artist & Animator on this project, I was responsible for the full animation pipeline from concept to final delivery. Based on the client’s vision, I handled modeling, texturing, animation, and compositing. The animation was created entirely in Blender, with After Effects used for color grading and logo integration.
I worked closely with the product manager and client, and then handed over the animation to the developer responsible for the website integration and reskinning from the previous year’s edition. The project was developed forN4 Studio, in collaboration with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers marketing and event team.
CONCLUSION
This project was a super fun challenge in both creative direction, motion and technical execution. The final animation plays a key role in shaping the festival’s visual identity, bringing energy and motion to the Grey Cup Festival 2025 website.
