Fiber Optic Field Operations PWA (19,000 Lines)

A 19,000-line progressive web app built for fiber optic field operations, used daily by OSP design teams across multiple states.

What It Does

Fiber optic deployment involves tracking pole attachments, calculating make-ready requirements, identifying conflicts, and generating permit-ready outputs. This PWA automates all of that by pulling live job data from the Katapult Pro API and running the calculations that field teams previously did by hand.

Technical Implementation

Frontend: JavaScript-based PWA with offline support for field use in areas with poor connectivity
API Integration: Katapult Pro API v2 for live job data, pole attachment records, and conflict tracking
Backend: Firebase for real-time data sync and user management
GIS: ArcGIS integration for spatial data and mapping
Automation: Make-ready calculations, pole attachment conflict detection, and permit-ready output generation

Outcome

Deployed across active FTTH (Fiber to the Home) markets and used daily by OSP design teams in multiple states. The offline-first architecture means field crews can work in areas with no cell service and sync when they're back online.
